N.J. school closings, delayed openings due to snow for Friday (Nov. 22, 2024)

Northern parts of the Garden State were preparing Friday for the first burst of winter weather this season, prompting some school districts to announce schedule changes.
The National Weather Service issued winter weather advisories for Morris, Passaic, Sussex and Warren counties, in effect from 7 p.m. Thursday through 10 a.m. Friday.
As much as 4 to 6 inches of snow were expected to fall in high-elevation areas of Passaic and Sussex counties, with 1 to 4 inches possible in Morris and Warren counties Thursday night through Friday morning.
While the heavier snow was expected to fall just west and north of the Garden State, these areas were expected to see their first measurable snowfall since the winter.
The following school districts have announced schedule changes for Friday, Nov. 22, 2024:

DELAYED OPENINGS:

Butler – 2 hours

Mount Olive – 2 hours

DELAYED OPENINGS:

Ringwood – 90 minutes

Wanaque – 90 minutes

West Milford – 90 minutes
